Nick Turney
Raised among a sailing family in Toledo, OH, Nick Turney began sailing Optis out of North Cape Yacht Club when he was eight years old.  Nick and his family travelled all over the country sailing everything from small dinghies to J24's and PHRF boats.

After working for a local sailmaker in Toledo, Nick started managing North Sails in Cleveland, OH in 2009. With a wealth of experience in both One-Design classes and in PHRF/IRC racing - especially the Lightning, J22, Thistle, Highlander, Interlake, J70, Farr30 and Melges 32 - Nick's sailing background gives him the support he in needs in running the Cleveland Loft.

Nick has made the podium in the J24, J22, and Lightning National Championship regattas (including the J24, J22, and Lightning) but says his most memorable accomplishment was coaching an Olympic hopeful women's match racing team to a close fourth place finish at the 2010 trials.

When he's not traveling the country sailing or coaching, Nick enjoys running, cooking, and sitting on the couch to watch sports!
