|Zack Maxam took an interest in the sport of sailing through his father while growing up in San Diego, and started competitive racing after joining the San Diego Yacht Club junior sailing program. After racing dinghys through high school in San Diego and college at UCSB, Zack started sailing 49ers full time and joined the Moth class in 2008.
He signed on with North Sails in late 2011 and specializes in various classes such as the Melges 32, TP52 and SC70, as well as the Moth. Previously an Operations Manager for a boat building firm, Zach is a multitasker - managing his daily logistics with clients and spending any spare time he has on the loft sewing machines. With a strong racing background ranging from two 49er Olympic Campaigns, numerous keel boat appearances and a heavy One-Design background, Zack brings a broad spectrum of skills to the table.

4th place at Farr 40 World Championships in 2004
Zack spends his spare time Surfing, Kite Surfing, playing Disc Golf and walking the dog.
