X-35

X-35 OXYGEN WINS 2011 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!

by Rasmus Winston Rasmussen

Hosted by the Marselisborg Yacht Club, the X-35 World’s consisted of ten races. Twenty-nine boats competed for the world title and North-powered boats finished in the top three in all but one race, showing that North Sails is the right choice for this class!

The world championship was won by Oxygen skippered by Morten Ulrikkeholm, with Michael Hestbæk calling tactics. 2010 World Champion, Lelagain, placed second overall and raced with standard North CSD sails.

The majority of the fleet was using North CSD sails, which is a testament to North's involvement in the X-35 class since the first boats went into the water in 2006. North-powered boats have won most major regattas sailed in this class. This is the result of all the strengths inside the CSD program, where we benefit from the largest network of designers and sailmakers in the world.

For 2012 the big races will be the European Championship in Hankö, Norway, Copa Del Ray and the World Championship in Barcelona, Spain.

X-35: In a fleet with some of the world's best sailors you need the worlds best sails.

North Sails' Class Sail Development (CSD) is working harder than ever to serve the X-35. X-35 sails are made with the most advanced materials and manufacturing technology in the industry, and we are constantly working to develop our sails in every way from tuning to manufacture and design...
