When performance counts, the choice is clear!
North-Powered boats have an unbeaten record by winning 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 X-41 World and European Championships!!
At the 2012 World Championship in Finland North-powered boats became first, second and fourth and a majority of the boats used North Sails as their sailmaker. Congratulations to Aaro Cantell and crew onboard his North Sails-powered X-41 Normet for winning the highly competitive X-41 World Championship this year.
The special relationship between North Sails and X-Yachts - the famous Danish boat designer/builder, is one of the most consolidated examples of a partnership between a sailmaker and a boat builder. North Sails are therefore very proud to have worked closely with X-Yachts form the launch of boat, on both developing and promotion of the X-41 one design class and still are.
Across several European North Sails lofts, many of our designers and salesmen have been racing active in the class and have invested hundreds of hours testing different rig configurations based on our designed sail shapes, starting with the first model that touched the water in Denmark on 2007. At the 2008 Gold Cup in Copenhagen, 30 X-41s hit the start line for the first 'unofficial' World Championship, which confirmed that the X-41 was a high level racing class. Since then, North-powered boats have totally dominated the X-41 racing scene by winning the all the World and European Championship since 2008.
Our X-41 class expert Alessio Razeto (left) has worked for North Sails since 1998. Based in Carasco, Italy, Alessio started his sailing career racing 420s and 470s. He became familiar with the X-41 class when the first boat came to the Mediterranean in 2008 and have been following the class since then. When he's not working closely with owners and crew in the X-41 class, Alessio is a top level sailor also racing on X-35s, TP52s, Wallys and Maxis as well.
